EYE PILLOW & GRAIN SACK CARE

ONLY USE MICROWAVES THAT HAVE A TURNTABLE TO HEAT YOUR GRAIN SACK

• Always buy rye grain bags/packs with clear heating instructions as per the British Standard, and follow those instructions carefully.
• Microwave must have a functioning, rotating turntable.
• Ensure the microwave turntable turns freely with the bag on it and is not obstructed.
• Ensure the microwave is clean and free from oil and food debris.
• Never leave the bag in a microwave unattended when heating.

• Do not use rye grain bags or heat packs as bed warmers — use only for direct application to the body.
• Never overheat a rye grain bag, and do not use it if it has any signs of overuse (e.g., discolouration or a smell of burning or charring).
• Never reheat the bag until it has completely cooled, which could be up to two hours.
• Leave the bag to cool on a non-combustible surface such as a kitchen draining board.

• DO NOT allow the rye grain to dry out, otherwise it could burn.

Periodically heat a cup of water to boiling point in the microwave, thereby creating steam, and place your rye grain bag alongside and heat as usual. This enables the rye grain bag to rehydrate and extend its life.
